Fingerprints: A Dialogue Between Design and Nature

Craftsmanship isn’t just about making objects; it’s about connecting with materials, processes, and nature. My philosophy, fingerprints, reflects this balance between human creativity and the natural world. Here’s how it guides my work and shapes my designs.

Inspiration: The Movement of Wood
Wood, alive even after it’s harvested, moves and shifts, carrying its story. Fingerprints symbolizes this dialogue between creator and material. This philosophy extends beyond wood, shaping how I approach all materials.

Signature and Texture
Fingerprints disrupt straight lines, creating intimacy and authenticity. Perfection can limit creativity, while imperfection allows freedom. By letting materials move naturally, especially wood, my designs balance structure and spontaneity.

Technique as Meditation
The fingerprints technique is simple yet reflective. With sandpaper in hand, I let the wood guide me. Wood’s natural movement, especially during drying, shapes textures organically. While adaptable to other materials, wood’s inspiration is unmatched.

A Masterful Signature
Each fingerprint is my personal mark, showing the time spent understanding the material. From concept to creation, I listen to and honor its essence, creating designs that bridge human creativity with nature.

Fingerprints is more than a technique; it’s a philosophy of respecting nature and embracing imperfection. By letting materials guide me, I craft designs that connect deeply with creators and viewers alike. This approach celebrates craftsmanship as a dialogue between creativity and nature’s evolving story.
